Welcome 13th VARINDIA IT Forum

The topic of which was “Technology Enablement for Digital India”, started with a ceremonial lamp lighting ceremony attended by the Chief Guests of the evening Shri Shankar Aggarwal, IAS, Secretary, Labour & Employment, Government of India; Shri Navin Verma, IAS, Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India; Shri Rama Rao, IAS (Retd), Deputy Chief Secretary, Government of Maharastra; Shri Savitur Prasad, Principal Integrated Financial Advisor, Indian Army, Government of India; Shri B. J. Srinath, DG, ICERT, Government of India; and Shri Ashish Khetan, Vice-Chairman, Delhi Dialogue Commission, Government of Delhi. The Forum was attended by around 200 guests who included CIOs and CTOs from telecom and large enterprises.

The event was supported by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, and partnered by EMC, Cisco, VMware, Qualcomm, Max Security, NIXI, TCIL, WEBEL and STPI.

The unveiling of the fourth edition of the Brand Book was the most exciting event. The unveiling was done in the presence of Shri Shankar Aggarwal, IAS, Secretary, Labour & Employment, Government of India; Shri Rama Rao, IAS (Retd), Deputy Chief Secretary, Government of Maharastra; Shri Savitur Prasad, Principal Integrated Financial Advisor, Indian Army; and other guests.

Like every other year, the awards for Most-Trusted Companies and Brand of Excellence have been given away to 10 corporates based on the votes cast on the company’s website. The five companies felicitated under the category of Most-Trusted Companies are EMC Corporation, HP India Sales Pvrivate Ltd, VMware Software India Private Ltd, SAP India Private Ltd and Cisco Systems India Private Ltd.

The Brand of Excellence awards have been given to five companies which included Dell India Private Ltd, Tally Solutions Private Ltd, D-Link India Ltd, Canon India Private Ltd and Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. The awards are based on the votes cast on the VARINDIA website where 3,500 respondents voted for their favourite companies.

The Lucky Draw contest by VARINDIA generated great interest from the audience, with six lucky winners walking away with 3 iPads and 3 iPhones.

The 13th edition of the IT Forum concluded on a very interesting note, driving home the message that with a large digitally-enabled middle class, India as a young country is bound to see more growth and change which spells opportunity for everyone.
