Avaya Flare Communicator introduced for iPad tablets

Avaya has announced the availability of Avaya Flare Communicator for iPad tablets. Avaya Flare Communicator claims to broaden the next-generation user experience of the Avaya Flare Experience currently delivered on the Avaya Desktop Video Device, to include the market-leading consumer tablet. Avaya Flare Communicator is said to provide mobile workers with secure, next-generation, unified communications and collaboration capabilities over both Wi-fi and 3G networks.

Avaya Flare Communicator for iPad tablets is supposed to be enabled by the Avaya Aura unified communications architecture, which delivers integrated applications to a broad range of fixed and mobile devices. Avaya has taken a secure mobile collaboration by making the Avaya Flare Communicator a download from the Apple App Store. Additional consumer devices and operating systems will be supported later this year.

Dr. Richard Mendola, VP, Information Technology & CIO, Emory University said, "Avaya Flare Communicator combines Avaya's software engineering expertise with all the strengths of the iPad tablet. The result is great voice quality, high reliability and a beautiful user interface that looks like it was built for how we work today. It's the only 'phone' I have on my desk right now. "
