McAfee appoints New CTO for Asia Pacific

McAfee has announced the promotion of Michael Sentonas to the position of Vice-President and Chief Technology Officer, Asia Pacific. In his new role, based in Sydney, Sentonas joins leaders from the Americas and EMEA within the McAfee Office of the CTO. He will work with them to advance McAfee relationships with key customers and partners in order to support each region’s unique business and regulatory requirements.

Led by McAfee Worldwide Chief Technology Officer George Kurtz, the Office of the CTO has external and internal responsibilities. Internally, the CTO team helps drive innovation throughout McAfee by analysing market trends, customer feedback and incorporating it into the product development cycle. Externally, the CTO team focusses on activities such as keynotes, media presentations, industry associations and thought leadership with key customers, partners and governments around the globe.

“Michael is an experienced technologist and has the expertise to guide McAfee, our partners and our customers as we continue to innovate in our battle to fight cybercrime and overcome cybersecurity challenges,” said George Kurtz.

Sentonas joined McAfee in 1999 and has over fifteen years experience in the IT industry, focussing on Internet security.  His past roles include sales engineering and services, software development, security consulting and management.
