Epson Accredited Partner Meet 2009 held in Venice

85 Accredited Epson partners met in Italy from 7th to 11th November to review & discuss plans for the year ahead Epson's Accredited Partner's Meet 2009 recently concluded in Venice, Italy. In keeping with the location the theme for this year's event was "Veni. Vidi. Vici." (Came. Saw. Conquered.) - a celebration of sorts for the excellent performance of the company. An event which is eagerly awaited by all Epson's key partners from across the country, this year's business discussions as usual were combined with lots of fun and games. The business meeting, was held to review Epson's performance for the year 2008-09 and to discuss the roadmap and strategies for the year ahead. This year as in previous years, partners from all business segments and from both India and the Indian sub-continent joined the meet.

Epson senior management from India and Singapore as well as individual Business Managers presented their road map and plans for the company and their individual product categories. At the meet Epson informed its partners that it had seen significant market share gains across categories since they last met. As per latest IDC reports Epson's Value market share of the Overall Printer market stood at 27% in September 2009 up from 21% in September 2008. This put it at par with the market leader. Similarly Epson's Value Market share in the Inkjet segment was up from 27% in September 2008 to 36% in September 2009, a market share gain of 9% points. In the traditionally strong area of Dot Matrix Printers as well Epson share moved up from 48% to 55% over the course of the last 12 months.

While applauding the partners for a superb effort to make this happen, Epson officials reiterated the aim to grow substantially in these segments in the year ahead and the growth objectives as well as strategies set were shared with the partners. Epson also provided the partners with an insight into the role they and they're organizations could play as leaders going forward. The presentations provided insights to the partners to help each of them plan their strategies with a view to enhance their opportunities in the current and future market. All the partners acknowledged that the presentations were extremely useful.

The serious part of the meet was followed by enjoyable sight seeing in Venice, a visit to the Sistine Chapel in Florence, the leaning tower in Pisa and finally a visit to the Vatican.

Commenting on the meet Mr. Sanjeev Patel of Excellent Informatics, Mumbai said, "This year's meet was fantastic. Epson has made gigantic strides in the last 12 months and it was good to take stock of this and to celebrate it in a sense too. The Epson partner meet is eagerly awaited by all of us and this year was no exception with the trip being a brilliant one"

Adding to this Mr. Hemant Aggarwal from Intech Systems - Delhi said, "Interacting with Epson top management and fellow partners and getting different perspectives first hand is a great experience. Epson spares no effort when it comes to these meets. This year was even better since the brand has grown in strength and sales have been excellent."
