Optifibre partners Elitecore to offer OSS/BSS
Platform for IPTV Services
Elitecore
Technologies, a provider of billing
software, will offer OSS/BSS platform
to Aksh Optifibre Ltd., a franchisee
of MTNL for Internet Protocol Television
(IPTV) services to its subscribers
in Delhi and Mumbai. Aksh is in the
business of Optifibre and cable technologies
and their main product is a Fiber-to-the-Home
solution.
According to research, total subscribers
for IPTV are expected to exceed 120
million by 2010, making the Indian
IPTV market the most potential market
for IPTV by 2010.
Aksh Optifibre aims to provide IPTV
service to 450,000 subscribers in
Mumbai and Delhi, for which it utilizes
MTNL's existing broadband network
as the content delivery backbone and
enables users to get services such
as video on demand, broadband, TV
channels, time-shifted TV and videoconferencing.
Elitecore’s Crestel will provide billing
solution to Aksh Optifiber Ltd. for
all these services. Elitecore Technologies
will deploy Crestel Convergent Billing
to deliver end-to-end billing and
customer-centric management that meets
the OSS/BSS, policy management, authentication
and customer care requirements.
