NSN demonstrates HSPA
Nokia Siemens Networks has announced that it is presenting demo of HSPA+ Multiflow on commercial infrastructure equipment, delivering up to double the cell edge data speed. Operators will be able to offer enhanced mobile broadband with a new feature for HSPA+ networks from Nokia Siemens Networks and Qualcomm.

Indoor LTE Femtocell Base Stations
NEC Corporation has launched new indoor LTE Femtocell base stations for telecom carriers. The base stations achieve high-speed, high-volume wireless communications. The new product is available in two models, one designed for enterprise and another for residential customers. The base stations will be available in the second quarter of 2012.

Upgraded tablet PC at same price
Kapil Sibal, Minister of Communications and Information Technology has announced that an upgraded version of the tablet PC "Aakash", supplied primarily to students at less than Rs.2,450 ($49) a piece, would not be hiked. The minister, who also holds the education portfolio, said two state-owned technology companies had been roped in to manufacture the upgraded version.

60% workforce to increase in India
Cisco Systems will increase its workforce in India by about 60% over the next four years as part of its strategy for emerging markets, according to industry report. This is believed to be the first big-scale recruitment by Cisco in India after it announced a 15% cut in global workforce in mid 2011. Most of the hiring will be for the company's research.

New Microsoft Windows logo
Microsoft has unveiled that it was redesigning the logo of Windows software, making a fundamental change to the iconic four-colour Windows logo users have been used to for 20 years. According to market buzz, the new logo is said to be slightly-angled blue block with a thin white cross in the middle, meshing with the Metro design of Microsoft's upcoming Windows 8.

Andhra Govt. websites hacked
The cyber criminals broke into one of the government servers and hacked as many as 27 websites of various departments of Andhra Pradesh exposing the chinks in the state's cyber security.It is believed that the hackers did not deface the pages or steal the information but only added additional pages with their message.The websites which were hacked include those of departments of commercial taxes, general administration department, horticulture, factories, gazette notifications and government orders.

Rajat Jain joins Xerox as MD
Xerox India Limited, the local operating company of Xerox Corporation has named Rajat Jain as Managing Director. He will assume his Xerox role effective from 20 February. Rajat will be responsible for leading Xerox India's strategy implementation and business operations, including sales of products .
