IoT will be the next game changer in India, says Darren Chen
Advantech has recently organized “Design-In Forum” event in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune and Delhi, which saw participation from over 500 attendees from diverse industries like technology, medical equipments, defence, aerospace, machine & factory automation and security & surveillance. The theme of the forum was “Technology, Trends and Innovation for Embedded Developers and it also focussed on Internet of Things (IoT). The event was co-hosted by Intel, Microsoft and McAfee.
In these years, IoT, big data, cloud computing and intelligent planet are hot topics in the IT industry, which has indicated a new era and business opportunities in the embedded market. According to IDC’s report released in May 2013 indicated that billions of new users and billions more machines will drive the intelligent systems market to over 5 billion units and nearly $2.4 trillion in revenue by 2017.
Internet of Things (IoT) will be a game changer in everyday technology. We believe the time of IoT has come. According to the Forrester Research prediction, the global revenues from IoT will be thirty times higher than the Internet,” said Darren Chen, Country Manager, Advantech India at the Advantech Embedded Design-In Forum” held in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune and Delhi.
Darren added, “Advantech will play a leading role in the IoT era by providing comprehensive system solutions. Advantech will be an innovator and enabler in the intelligent planet era via our services and support to our customers. We will create more intelligent lifestyle choices and become the leading solution provider of IoT in the intelligent Planet.
Advantech aims to grow by around 7–10 times the current revenues by 2018, which also shows the potential of the industry.
