Teradata recognized as Leader in 2014 Gartner Magic Quadrant
Teradata has announced that Teradata is positioned as a leader for the fifteenth consecutive year in the new 2014 Gartner, Inc. Magic Quadrant for Data Warehouse Database Management Systems.
“Entering 2014, the hype around replacing the data warehouse gives way to the more sensible strategy of augmenting it,” the report opens. The evaluation notes the rise of new big data entrants to the space, and states: “The influence of the logical data warehouse has created a situation in which multiple repository strategies are now expected, even from a single vendor.” Vendors are rated on both vision and execution.
“Gartner’s data warehousing report follows three 2014 analyst evaluations in which Teradata is rated a leader. The first recognition noted our leadership in database analytics, the second gave us top recognition for the Teradata Unified Data Architecture, and the third report acknowledged that Teradata is a leader in big data Hadoop solutions. With the explosion of big data, customers are asking for help to design, architect, implement and optimize their analytic environments from a functional and cost perspective. Teradata’s deep consulting expertise and experience qualify us to be the trusted advisor to help customers navigate this complexity,” said Bob Fair, Executive Vice-President, Teradata.
The report comes at a time when forward-thinking organizations are launching big data strategies and programmes as they face new challenges in data complexity.
