Kenexa (NYSE: KNXA), a global provider of business solutions for human resources, and the government of Andhra Pradesh today announced it has reached an agreement to transfer undeveloped land at the company's Vizag facility back to the Government.
Kenexa will retain approximately four acres of land that houses its Vizag facility wherein Kenexa currently employs nearly 500 people.
"We are proud that we were able to work in cooperation with the IT Ministry and APIIC to find an amicable solution beneficial to both the Government and to Kenexa," said Rudy Karsan, CEO of Kenexa. "Kenexa has sufficient land for our employees to conduct our daily business in Vizag and the Government has an opportunity to facilitate new development and job creation on the undeveloped land being transferred to the Government by Kenexa."
Kenexa and the Government officials officially inaugurated a 25-acre plot of ground in Vizag in January 2008. When it first opened, the office housed 250 Kenexa employees, and the company has gradually expanded the size of its workforce in Vizag.
