The Cyber Press researchers have exposed a recent data leak from the National Security Agency (NSA). The leaked 1.4 GB of data includes sensitive and classified information, and is posted in a well-known data breach forum.
The leaked data reportedly contains sensitive information, including internal communications, classified documents, and personal data of NSA employees.
While investigating, the researchers found the leaked file named “rFDY.txt” containing Full names, Emails, Office numbers and Personal cell numbers.
Furthermore, the leaked data also includes an extensive collection of email addresses belonging to government officials from various entities such as the Government, Military, and Pentagon.
On July 9, 2024, a user named "Gostingr" posted a classified file on a data leak forum, intending to disclose a significant NSA database. The user claimed the data was purportedly obtained from a breach at Acuity Inc., a company that collaborates closely with the United States government and its allies.
As the investigation continues, the NSA is expected to implement additional security measures to safeguard its data. The incident is a stark reminder of the ever-present threat of cyberattacks and the need to protect sensitive information.
Although the access method remains unknown, the Cyber Press team has contacted US government and NSA officials to notify them of the data leak and is currently awaiting their response.
