To ensure quality training and bridge the digital divide, the government will partner with tech giants like Microsoft, Google, Intel, HCL, and Amazon.
In a significant step towards digital education and youth empowerment, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has unveiled ‘AI Pragya’, a government skilling program designed to train 10 lakh citizens in emerging technologies. The initiative places a strong focus on AI education, machine learning, data analytics, cybersecurity, and other advanced IT training modules—positioning the state as a frontrunner in the India AI programs landscape.
The program is being spearheaded by the Centre for e-Governance (CEG) under the IT and electronics department of the UP government. It is backed by the World Bank under the UP AGREES (Accelerated Growth of Rural Economy and Employment in State) project, which aims to enhance digital capabilities and build a future-ready workforce across the state.
Recognizing the need to bridge the digital divide and make quality tech education accessible, the government has partnered with leading global tech companies, including Microsoft, Google, Intel, HCL, Amazon, and the Wadhwani Foundation. These collaborations will ensure that the training content is industry-relevant, up-to-date, and delivered by experts in the field.
AI Pragya is more than just an IT training program—it represents a holistic move toward building a digitally literate, future-ready generation. By equipping youth with practical skills in AI and related fields, the initiative aligns with national goals around Digital India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, empowering citizens not only to participate in but also lead India’s digital transformation.
Through AI Pragya, Uttar Pradesh is laying a strong foundation for inclusive, technology-driven growth and paving the way for the state’s youth to thrive in the global digital economy.
