Akshay Kumar joins Acer as its brand ambassador as the technology company marks 50 years globally and 27 years in India, with the partnership highlighting its expanding portfolio across computing and connected home solutions.
Acer has announced actor Akshay Kumar as its new brand ambassador as the technology company marks five decades of global operations and 27 years in the Indian market. The partnership comes as Acer broadens its positioning beyond personal computing through its House of Acer ecosystem.
The House of Acer brings together Acer's computing portfolio and Acerpure's home appliances under a unified proposition. The concept covers products designed for different aspects of everyday life, including work, entertainment, comfort and household management.
The collaboration with Kumar is aimed at reflecting this wider consumer focus. Known for balancing film projects, travel, fitness and family commitments, Kumar's association with the brand is being positioned around the role technology plays in simplifying daily routines.
Speaking about his association with Acer, Akshay Kumar said, “My life is always moving. There is work, travel, fitness and family, and when I come home, I want things to be simple. Technology should make life easier, not add more to your list. What I like about Acer is that it has evolved with the way people live. The House of Acer brings together technology that can become a natural part of your everyday life, from the way you work and entertain yourself to the way you live at home. That is what makes this association exciting for me.”
House of Acer expands consumer proposition
The House of Acer brings laptops and other computing devices alongside televisions, air conditioners, washing machines and additional home solutions. Rather than presenting these products as standalone devices, Acer is positioning the portfolio as part of a broader connected home experience.
The new brand association also coincides with a significant milestone for Acer. The company is celebrating 50 years of global operations and 27 years in India, having expanded its portfolio in line with changing consumer requirements and technology trends.
Acer is drawing parallels between its own evolution and Kumar's career, with both having maintained relevance across changing markets and generations. The actor's transition across different film genres and audiences is being aligned with Acer's efforts to expand beyond its traditional computing identity.
Harish Kohli, President & Managing Director, Acer India Group, said, “For 50 years globally and 27 years in India, Acer has continued to evolve with the changing needs of consumers. Today, technology is no longer confined to the desk but is an integral part of how we work, relax, entertain ourselves and live. The House of Acer brings this evolution together, creating a home where technology is designed to make everyday life smarter, easier and healthier. Akshay Kumar embodies qualities such as performance, discipline, reliability and constant evolution, making him a natural partner for this next chapter of Acer.”
The partnership marks a new phase in Acer's consumer-facing strategy as the company seeks to connect its technology expertise with a broader range of household products. Through the House of Acer proposition, the company aims to establish a more integrated presence across consumers' everyday technology and home needs.
