Adobe’s new ChatGPT plugin brings Photoshop, Premiere, Acrobat, Firefly, Lightroom and other tools into one AI-driven interface, enabling users to create, edit and manage creative and document content through natural-language prompts.
Adobe has introduced a new plugin for ChatGPT that brings more than 70 creative and productivity capabilities directly into the AI platform. The integration allows users to work on images, videos, designs, PDFs and other content using natural-language instructions without repeatedly switching between applications.
The plugin is available globally through ChatGPT on the web and mobile and works across ChatGPT Work and Codex. It brings together capabilities from Adobe’s broad portfolio, including Photoshop, Adobe Express, Firefly, Premiere, Acrobat, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign and Adobe Stock.
The move expands Adobe’s collaboration with OpenAI and follows the earlier availability of individual Adobe applications within ChatGPT. By bringing multiple tools together through a single interface, Adobe aims to simplify creative and document workflows that typically require users to move between different applications.
AI-driven workflows across creative and business tasks
With the new integration, users can issue prompts describing the outcome they want, while the plugin determines which Adobe capabilities are appropriate for the task. This can include developing marketing and campaign material, adapting existing videos for formats such as Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, creating promotional assets and turning data into professionally designed PDF documents.
The approach is designed to reduce the number of steps involved in content production, particularly for businesses, marketers and creative professionals managing multiple types of digital assets.
Users can access a range of capabilities without immediately signing into an Adobe account. However, Adobe account holders receive additional functionality, including access to generative AI features, integration with Creative Cloud files and the ability to save projects and continue working on them across sessions.
The integration also maintains a connection with Adobe’s native applications. Users can move projects into Adobe’s dedicated software when they require more advanced editing, design or production capabilities.
Adobe expands presence across AI assistants
The ChatGPT plugin is part of Adobe’s wider strategy of making its creative ecosystem accessible through third-party AI platforms. The company has been expanding integrations with several AI assistants, including ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot.
Adobe has indicated that additional integrations are also planned, including support for Slack and Google Gemini. The strategy reflects the company’s effort to make creative and productivity capabilities accessible through conversational interfaces rather than limiting workflows to standalone desktop and web applications.
By consolidating more than 70 tools into ChatGPT, Adobe is positioning conversational AI as another entry point into its broader creative ecosystem. The company expects this approach to help users move from an idea expressed in natural language to a finished creative or business asset with fewer interruptions to their workflow.
