Driven by rising demand for AI-powered devices across tier 2 and tier 3 cities, Amazon India’s new AI Store brings curated electronics with practical AI features, simplified explanations, and integrated smart shopping tools.
Amazon India has introduced a dedicated AI Store on its platform, creating a unified destination for consumers to explore and purchase AI-powered electronic devices. The move comes amid a sharp rise in interest, with searches for AI-enabled products on the platform witnessing a significant year-on-year increase.
The newly launched store brings together a wide range of products, including laptops, smartphones, televisions, home appliances, tablets, wearables, and emerging smart devices. The company aims to simplify discovery by curating products that offer tangible and practical AI-driven features, rather than merely carrying AI as a marketing label.
Rising demand beyond metro cities
A notable trend driving this initiative is the growing demand for AI-powered devices outside major urban centres. According to Amazon India, a substantial share of searches originates from tier 2 and tier 3 cities, highlighting the expanding reach of advanced technology across the country.
Among product categories, laptops and tablets are witnessing the fastest growth in AI-related interest, followed by televisions and wearable devices. This shift reflects a broader change in consumer behaviour, where users across regions are actively seeking smarter and more efficient technology solutions for everyday use.
The surge in demand indicates that AI adoption is no longer limited to metropolitan consumers. Instead, it is gaining traction among a wider audience, including students, professionals, and households in smaller cities.
Focus on practical AI and user clarity
The AI Store has been designed with a clear focus on usability and transparency. Each product featured on the platform is required to demonstrate meaningful AI functionality, such as enhanced performance, improved energy efficiency, or personalised user experiences.
To make the shopping experience more accessible, Amazon India has also simplified product descriptions. Instead of relying on complex technical terminology, listings explain AI features in straightforward language, helping customers better understand how the technology adds value.
The store is further supported by Amazon’s existing AI-driven tools, including conversational assistance, visual search capabilities, and summarised customer reviews. These features aim to streamline the decision-making process and improve overall user experience.
With this launch, Amazon India is positioning itself to cater to the growing appetite for AI-powered electronics while making advanced technology more accessible and easier to understand for a broader consumer base.
