Aiming to drive support for its FirePro professional graphics, AMD (NYSE:AMD) has announced appointment of SAPPHIRE Technology as its exclusive global distribution partner. With this new distribution pact, SAPPHIRE will deliver new distribution resources to AMD's channel ecosystem companies worldwide. The company has engaged SAPPHIRE to deliver focussed distribution on a global basis.

SAPPHIRE's experience in a variety of regions, including focus on Asia-Pacific workstation market, will enable AMD to service the needs of even larger numbers of users throughout the world.

The distribution partnership is effective immediately, with AMD FirePro products distributed in the channel through SAPPHIRE from October 2013.
