ANADIGICS has announced that the Company's AWL9293 and AWL9581802.11ac front-end integrated circuits (FEICs) are enabling WiFiconnectivity in the new GALAXY Tab Pro by Samsung Electronics. Thisfeature-rich tablet includes a 10.1-inch WQXGA resolution display,Exynos(R) 5 Octa processor, 8 megapixel camera and Android(R) 4.4KitKat operating system. The new GALAXY Tab Pro offers a virtualkeyboard that mimics a physical keyboard, leveraging haptic feedbackand hotkeys to offer users a more accurate and familiar typingexperience.
"We are very pleased to power both the 2.4 and 5 GHz 802.11ac WiFibands in the new GALAXY Tab Pro," said Jonathan Griffith, vicepresident of WiFi Products at ANADIGICS. "Our FEICs deliverdifferentiated performance and integration to help reducetime-to-market, extend battery life and increase data rates. Bycollaborating with Samsung, we continue to leverage these advantages inthe latest generation of tablets to deliver an enhanced userexperience."
ANADIGICS' AWL9293 2.4 GHz and AWL9581 5 GHz FEICs leverage the company's patented InGaP-Plus technology and uniquely designedarchitectures to combine a high-performance power amplifier (PA),low-noise amplifier (LNA) with bypass option, and RF switch on a singledie. This level of integration greatly improves manufacturability andreliability, while reducing PCB space requirements. These FEICs alsodeliver exceptionally low current consumption, significantly extendingbattery-life in mobile applications. The complete family of 802.11acFEICs provides outstanding error vector magnitude (EVM) and noisefigure performance, which enables ultra-high data throughput.
