With the increasing smartphone penetration and the growing Internet users, India has moved at a phenomenal pace towards going mobile and digital. “Digital India” will help the government to improve their communication with the people living in far-off villages and in helping them draw benefits from government schemes. From installing network infrastructure facilities to powering, supervising, tracking and analyzing it, Emerson Network Power has the experience and resources to install and handle such a huge demand. With solutions enabling e-governance to e-commerce, e-banking to health services, Emerson has the vision and expertise to help the government deliver on its “Digital India Vision by 2019”.

As the vision of Digital India is about harnessing the power of IT and creating a digital platform including government, infrastructure, retail, jobs and manufacturing and several other sectors, the first and foremost challenge is the massive scale of the project and the diversity of operations. The entire project due to its sheer scale will need to take into consideration several aspects of conceptualizing, designing, and implementing the project in its entirety. It would have to factor into adoption of standards, interoperability at various levels, utilization of various technology platforms, security considerations, managing massive loads of data and finally optimizing the network infrastructure required to do so. Training government officials on understanding, operating and using the data with ease will also call for sufficient efforts in the move towards digitization.
