To address the need of continuous availability of critical business applications, BMC Software announced a new mainframe product for IBM IMS. The BMC Fast Path Online Restructure/EP solution reduces downtime to improve availability of critical IMS Fast Path applications.
The software enables IMS Fast Path databases to be restructured in minutes rather than hours, allowing business needs to be met. Databases remain online during the majority of the restructure process, increasing application availability and minimizing the risk of financial losses associated with outages.
Richard Ptak, Managing Partner, Ptak, Noel & Associates LLC, said, "For large companies, such as financial institutions and insurance providers, that require outages to update their databases as a result of mergers, acquisitions and other business requirements, this solution provides critically needed support to avoid financial losses and penalties. We believe BMC is leading the way in helping companies further reduce costs and risks associated with database outages, while increasing productivity and revenue - a critical success factor in today's business environment."
Bill Miller, Senior Vice-President & President, Mainframe Service Management, BMC, said, "BMC Fast Path Online Restructure/EP is important to our Business Service Management strategy, which provides our customers with the services they need to succeed, when they need them."
Recognized as the leader in Business Service Management, BMC offers a comprehensive approach and unified platform that helps IT organizations cut cost, reduce risk and drive business profit.
