Brocade has announced that IBM will rebrand and sell select Brocade enterprise IP networking products through authorized IBM Business Partners in India.
Earlier this year, IBM and Brocade had expanded their existing relationship for storage area networking (SAN) products to include enterprise IP networking products as well. Now for the first time, IBM plans to sell Brocade IP networking product families through authorized IBM Business Partners in India, with additional products to be added over time. The product families include Brocade NetIron MLX Series which will be sold as IBM m-series Ethernet routers, Brocade NetIron CES 2000 Series as IBM c-series Ethernet switches, Brocade FastIron SX Series as IBM s-series Ethernet switches and Brocade FastIron GS Series which will be rebranded as IBM g-series Ethernet switches.Â
“Our customers expect a complete, cost-effective solution that will help them build a dynamic infrastructure. They are not looking at point products from multiple vendors to build their data center,” said Shailesh Agarwal, Vice-President of Sales Programmes, Systems and Technology Group, IBM India/SA. “This partnership helps us be more responsive as it addresses specific requirements of a client’s networking capabilities coupled with applications, that we can add to our existing portfolio of hardware and services for their data center build out.”
In support of their broadened relationship, Brocade has been working with IBM to develop customized programmes across many key functional areas, including sales, marketing, training/certification, and technical support/service.
