Brocade and Dell have announced that the new range of open, standards-based networking solutions under Dell’s PowerConnect B-Series is now ready to ship and immediately available in Asia, enabling organizations of all sizes to build efficient data centers and drive down costs, while preserving choice of architectures.
Â
Brocade and Dell have enjoyed a successful and strategic partnership since 1998, sharing the common vision to benefit customers by having diverse technology and solution options and that next-generation, virtualized data centers should be open and standards-based.Â
Â
“When we spoke to customers in the region to find out their data center challenges, there were three key trends that came through. The first is the move towards a more widespread adoption of virtualization; second towards data center consolidation where customers cut back on the number of data centers to just a few centrally located ones; the third trend is the increase in network traffic associated with the convergence of different types of data, given the explosion of unstructured data and social media applications usage including video traffic,” said Phil Davis, Vice-President, Dell Large Enterprise Business Unit (APJ).Â
Â
Brocade and Dell have once again taken their partnership to the next level by incorporating Brocade technologies into the Dell data center networking portfolio. The Dell PowerConnect B-Series supports a dynamic infrastructure and optimization solutions for virtualized environments. It enables customers to deploy and manage an efficient data center as well as respond nimbly to changing requirements as their networks evolve, all through a modular, integrated platform that is interoperable with the existing network architecture.
Â
Available now in Asia Pacific, the Dell PowerConnect B-Series of end-to-end networking products includes the PowerConnect B-RX Managed Advanced Ethernet Chassis Switches, PowerConnect B-DCX 4 Slot 8 Gbps Backbone Modular/Aggregation Chassis Switches and PowerConnect B-8000 Managed 10 Gigabit CEE/DCB Ethernet Switches that help simplify the consolidation of data center networking infrastructures and meet the increasing demands of virtualized environments.
