CIO Tony Scott bids adieu to Microsoft
To the utter amazement of readers, Microsoft's(NASDAQ:MSFT) CIO Tony Scott has left the company. He was serving Microsoft for the last five years.
Scott's departure news has come out in a surprising way. Microsoft has not made any official statement. Rather, his LinkedIn profile listed him as former CIO and his name was also eliminated from the company's website among other senior leaders. However, a spokesperson from Microsoft has later on acknowledged the departure in a statement: "Tony Scott has decided to depart Microsoft to focus on personal projects. While, at Microsoft, Tony has proven to be a strong IT leader passionate about taking Microsoft's technology to the next level and using our experiences and learnings to help customers and partners.
We thank Tony for his contributions and wish him well. After Scott' departure, Jim Dubois, the company's Vice-President of IT Product and Services Management, has been named as interim CIO.
