Citrix launches Low-Cost Webcasting Tool

Citrix has unveiled a subscription-based webcasting event platform GoToWebcast in North America and Europe to provide users with a low-cost and self-service webcasting tool for up to 5,000 attendees.

This tool will allow users to broadcast unlimited audio and video presentations to live and on-demand audiences. Attendees can also view webcasts from a PC or mobile device. This will, thus, enable speakers to reach audiences irrespective of time or location. The webcast tool has been launched with a wizard to let users choose broadcast in audio or video, upload presentation documents, share audio or video clips streaming, conduct polls and connect to different social media channels during the event.

Bernardo de Albergaria, General Manager – SaaS Products and Markets, Citrix, said, "Audiences are becoming increasingly dispersed as a result of mobile work styles. It is becoming ever-more important for organizations to find new and engaging ways to connect with geographically-distributed audiences.”

Along with GoToWebcast tool, Citrix has also released a beta version of GoToWebinar with HDFaces supporting its 500- and 1,000-attendee plans. HDFaces for GoToWebinar and GoToTraining delivers the same high-definition video capabilities already found in GoToMeeting.
