Classroom teaching going digital – Wacom Pen Displays leading the way

There was time when teachers used the black board to teach. Digital took over, and digital White boards came into use. One major problem remained though - the teacher still couldn’t face the students while teaching. Wacom, the world leaders in pen technology, revolutionized the way world teaches by introducing its pen based displays.

Today the top institutes depend on Wacom solutions. The very popular Wacom DTU series of pen displays combines the advantages of an LCD monitor with the control, comfort, and productivity of Wacom's patented cordless, battery-free pen technology.By using a pen on screen, the teachers can work more quickly and naturally, while facing the students. The pen provides precise cursor control in any software application, including applications developed for special uses. The teachers can markup study material digital documents directly, annotate over images and ultimately conduct an interactive presentation for teaching and involving the students.

The pen displays now also come with new digital-inking capabilities in Windows Vista and such leading office applications as Word®, PowerPoint®, and Acrobat.

“Wacom has definitely enhanced the teaching ecosystem with its pen display range that comes in 22, 16 and the newly introduced 10 inch screen size. These displays are at the center of any education related IT hardware solutions that we pitch to our customers. A teacher simply uses the Wacom battery free pen to write on the display conveniently located on his desk, while he sits and interacts with the students” says  Mr. A. Mohammed Haris of Sha Technologies, a Wacom partner in Chennai.

These displays are accompanied by a pen with 512 pen pressure levels, that makes teacher adopt to this digital medium effortlessly, as it gives him same feeling as teaching using pen and paper.
