Delhi Police PPP to ensure safety of BPO Employees

The Business Process Industry Association of India (BPIAI) held a meeting with the Delhi Police in Gurgaon last week to discuss issues regarding safety of employees.  Led by Manoj Malhotra, President BPIAI and CEO, Salient Business Solutions, Avantha Technologies, representatives from 15 member-companies met with Vikas Arora, DCP - East of Delhi Police.

During the meeting, members voiced their concerns and proposed measures to work collectively to address issues impacting BPOs across Delhi/NCR, keeping in view the new safety guidelines issued by the police for female employees. Vikas Arora apprised the group of the Police Department's various initiatives to ensure safety in Delhi/NCR.

Manoj Malhotra, CEO, Salient Business Solutions, Avantha Technologies and President, BPIAI, said, "BPIAI has offered to actively support and participate in all the Delhi/NCR police initiatives, and assure the industry's complete cooperation with the police."

The two sides discussed issues such as security cover for female employees at pick-up and drop-off points, route mapping for BPO employees, creating an SMS portal for traffic updates, interfacing through a social networking site, joint patrolling, etc. In an attempt to strengthen public-private partnership efforts, BPIAI has volunteered to train and sensitize police personnel manning the helpline number.
