Dell has introduced the Pro Max 16 Plus, the first mobile workstation equipped with Qualcomm’s enterprise-grade AI 100 PC Inference Card, enabling high-precision on-device AI workloads for engineers, data scientists, and professionals requiring secure, real-time performance.
Dell Technologies has unveiled the Dell Pro Max 16 Plus, a new mobile workstation that becomes the first in its category to integrate an enterprise-grade discrete Neural Processing Unit (NPU). The device incorporates Qualcomm’s AI 100 PC Inference Card, a specialised processor designed to execute demanding AI workloads locally with exceptional precision and speed. The workstation is available initially with Linux support, while a Windows version is expected in early 2026.
With its discrete NPU, the Pro Max 16 Plus enables rapid on-device inferencing for complex tasks, reduces dependence on cloud systems, and enhances data privacy—key benefits for organisations working with sensitive information. The Qualcomm AI 100 dual-card configuration features 32 AI cores and 64GB of LPDDR4x memory, capable of supporting large language models from 30 billion to 109 billion parameters.
Built for high-performance AI and enterprise workflows
The workstation is targeted at AI engineers, researchers, and data scientists building advanced tools such as chatbots, co-pilots, and AI agents. Its on-device AI capability supports a wide range of real-world applications, including real-time medical image analysis, secure financial and government analytics, and accelerated model development and deployment.
Under the hood, the Pro Max 16 Plus is powered by Intel Core Ultra processors—up to the Ultra 9 285HX—which include integrated NPUs for additional AI handling. Graphics options extend to the NVIDIA RTX PRO 5000 Blackwell Generation with 24GB GDDR7 memory for highly intensive workloads.
Advanced specs for demanding professionals
The device offers up to 256GB CAMM2 or 96GB CSODIMM DDR5 memory, along with up to 12TB of storage with RAID support. Display configurations include a 16-inch UHD+ Tandem OLED panel with up to 4K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Connectivity is equally advanced, featuring WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 5G LTE, 2.5G LAN and Thunderbolt 5.
Certified by more than 100 leading ISVs—including TensorFlow and PyTorch—the Pro Max 16 Plus is positioned as a robust workstation for next-generation enterprise AI workloads.See What’s Next in Tech With the Fast Forward Newsletter
