D-Link is now positioned among the industry’s vendors of Wireless LAN solutions, according to Gartner, Inc. In a separate market share report by Gartner, D-Link has also obtained the lead position in worldwide Wireless LAN standalone access point unit shipments for mid- and large-size enterprises in 2009.

"D-Link has not only solidified a strong lead in the shipment of WLAN standalone access points, but has also continued to show its strong growth and leadership in the business solution market year over year,” said Gary Yang, Managing Director, D-Link (India) Ltd. “We believe this is a testament to our continued commitment to delivering a comprehensive, innovative portfolio of wireless LAN solutions as part of our complete end-to-end solutions offering that also includes switching, storage, security and surveillance,” he added.

D-Link is a large, solid WLAN solution provider that has previously held a strong presence in the small- to medium-size business (SMB) sector. In 2009, D-Link successfully held the top spot in the small enterprise market for WLAN standalone access point unit shipments with a 37.2-per cent market share, far surpassing its nearest competitor’s 21.2 per cent. The most remarkable result is that D-Link also obtained the top position in medium- and large-size enterprise unit shipments with a 26.1-per cent market share in the same report.Â

Of late, D-Link is also looking at enhancing its channel recruiting and training this year to further strengthen its business sales through the company’s growing network of value-added resellers, solution providers, distributors and retailers. It also plans to leverage its strength in the switching business and to look into cross-selling opportunities, such as the integration of IP surveillance to further its footprint in business enterprise market.
