NASSCOM Foundation organizes the Environmental Sustainability Field Program in partnership with Earthwatch institute in a move to encourage sustainability thinking among business professionals. The daylong event to be held on April 27, 2012 in Delhi is said to focus on environment, sustainability and climate, connecting people personally to science and nature as well as exploring their beliefs and values about the environment. Running under MyKartavya, an initiative by NASSCOM Foundation, the program will enable 25 participants from member companies on this volunteering and learning experience.
Rita Soni, CEO, NASSCOM Foundation said, We are working closely with the Earthwatch Institute to pilot this Environmental Sustainability Field Program to encourage sustainability thinking among business professionals. The fact that companies like Barclays, IBM, Newgen technologies, Hughes Systique, CSC and Blackrock have already enrolled in the initiative is very encouraging and enables us to not only connect people to a wide spectrum of volunteering opportunities, but also helps them manage and evaluate their efforts."
