Facebook has launched its IPO, pricing shares at $38 each. Experts had predicted the company would price its initial public offering somewhere between $34-38/share. The company is currently said to be valued at approximately $104 billion, and was expected to rise to an additional $18.4 billion from its IPO. Facebook is believed to raise $16 billion in the IPO.
Facebook will use the stock ticker symbol FB at the NASDAQ exchange. Shares opened by trading at $43 each, a 13 per cent jump in price.
