Fitbit unveils Charge 4, with built-in GPS priced at Rs. 15,000

After Charge 3 fitness tracker, Fitbit has launched the Charge 4 in India as well as other global markets. The Fitbit Charge 4 retains the design of its predecessor while offering some new and improved features including an OLED touchscreen, built-in GPS, blood oxygen sensing, sleep tracking, and Fitbit Pay.

The Fitbit Charge 4 looks physically the same as its predecessor with a rectangular greyscale touchscreen display, adjustable silicon strap, and an aerospace-grade aluminum body that is water-resistant up to 50m. It comes with a host of sensors including a 3-axis accelerometer, an optical heart rate monitor, GPS module, vibration motor, an NFC chip, and an Altimeter for determining attained altitude.

The Charge 4 offers a ton of health features including 24x7 heart-rate monitoring, sleep tracking, female health tracking, guided breathing sessions, blood oxygen detection (SpO2), and calorie count.

It also supports real-time pace and detection (via GPS) for various exercises, sedentary reminders, automatic exercise detection, and over 20 goal-based exercises such as running, swimming, cycling, yoga and so on.

Compatible with both iOS and Android phones, the Fitbit Charge 4 lasts up to 7 days on a full charge (normal use) and up to 5 hours with GPS continuously in use. The device also gets Spotify integration for music support and Fitbit Pay that lets you make NFC-based payments.  

In India, the Fitbit Charge 4 costs Rs. 14,999 for the Black, Rosewood, and Storm Black/Blue variants and Rs. 16,999 for the Granite Reflective/Black Woven model.
