Fujisan to focus on Plustek Solutions
Fujisan Technologies, a Jatia Group of company, has been on a high growth path since its inception. A professionally run, family-owned business house, the group is technologically robust, with diverse business interests in manufacturing, FMCG, hospitality, education, real estate, financial services, biotechnology and Information Technology.
Established in 2004, a proficient hardware distribution and solution provider company, Fujisan operates as a distribution partner for world’s leading IT companies, including Fujitsu, Graphtec, Plustek, ThinPrint, SEH and INTELBANQ in India. The company has been growing at 60% year on year.
The company is a long-time partner of Fujitsu. However, in the last couple of years, the company has shaken hands with other brands.
While Plustek is a Taiwan-based image solution company with the capability of providing entry-level to A3 scanners in various formats and sizes, Graphtec is a Japan-based large format-based printing solutions provider. They already have Fujitsu scanners, which are completely high-end. Besides, ThinPrint is a Germany-based print server provider. SEH is also one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of network printing solutions based out of Germany and IntelBanq is an Italy-based Sobrel group company specialized into delivering precision, market-specific paper handling and imaging products for organizations that process paper transactions.
With this, the company has completely been branded as an image and printing Solutions provider in the value-added distribution.
Paresh Gathani, Director, Fujisan, says, “Fujisan has presence in ten locations and has eighty people in place. These ten locations including cities like Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur and Ahmedabad in the west, Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi and Hyderabad in the south, Delhi in the north and Kolkata in the east are equipped with both sales and support capabilities.”
He said, “Fujisan takes care of the end-to-end solutions for customers in terms of pre-sale and post-sale service support. The principals are quite happy and confident upon the capability of Fujisan.” “We have nearly 350 partners, who are spread across various A and B class cities, but very soon the company will spread its footprints across smaller cities also,” he adds.
The USP of Fujisan is that the company addresses both direct and indirect business models focussing on best-suited solutions for the customers, keeping in mind their TCO and RoI.
Even though Fujisan started Plustek very late, yet this brand contributes to their business substantially. Paresh says, “Though value-wise Plsutek is not the highest of the entire turnover, business-wise it contributes nearly 40 per cent. Thus, it has started enjoying focus from the company’s think-tank. Rest of the business is being shared by Fujitsu with 40 per cent and Graphtec with 20 per cent.”
Fujisan addresses five segments of channels, i.e. BFSI, government, retail and end- customers & professionals, education, shipping, logistics, etc.
Fujisan positions Plustek as a solution, which takes care of the entire TCO of the customers and probably price performance-wise it is the best.
Recalling about some of the best products, Paresh says, “Plustek Books scanner 4600, an A3 flatbed books canner is one of the best products available in the industry. It is the fastest one with 2.5 second/page in the industry. In the Duplex office products range, Plustek has the best products on best price performance basis. Plustek M12+ is another good product that the company has in the portability and unique product range.
Dr. Karen Ku, Vice-President, Plustek Inc., says, “We believe Fujisan is the right partner for us in India. They are specialized in image solutions as they have been in this industry for a long time. They are focussed on the partners and end-users both. As far as Plustek products are concerned, Fujisan’s strategy is to push Plustek DMS solution aggressively in the Indian market. We are really happy about it.”
The economic slowdown has brought many opportunities to many people and Fujisan is also on the lookout for such sopportunities. If things move in the right direction, the company expects to add some more solutions including Networking.
