Can you tell us something about the company?
We started our company way back in 1998. From a turnover of mere Rs.40 lakh, the company stood at Rs.150 crore in the last financial year, by achieving a market growth of 42%. We have our offices located in three cities, namely Ahmedabad, Baroda and Surat. We have a manpower of around 230 employees.
We are the registered distributors for Xerox, Microsoft and Dell. We have recently started with the local distribution for Canon too. CARE is the leader for office equipment products, software products, consumable products and consumer electronics goods like computers, laptops, printers, copiers, servers, paper shredder machines, LCDs, projectors and many more.
Besides distribution, we are an aggressive player in the retail sector too. While 60% of our interest lies in distribution, the retail forms another major chunk by comprising 40% of the total business that we do. We run a complete 18,000-sq. ft. showroom.
Please throw some light on your educational background and your past experiences in the industry?
For me, life is learning through experiences and early ups and downs in my life at a very young age. I started my career at the age of 15 by reselling toner cartridges. In course of time, in view of the potential available in office automation business, I started a company named CARE with my friend Kamlesh Shah in the year 1998. We initially started our business of fax machines and copier machines and then expanded to IT products. We had first partnered with HP. So, I would say HP is the foundation of CARE. Later, we partnered with other brands and expanded our business day by day to meet the demands of customers.
How do you prove to be different from your competitors in placing your products in the market?
Every business has its unique strategy to move ahead in this competition. One of the biggest plus points from the viewpoint of customers is that they get multibrand wide range of display under one roof with assured after-sales service support from our authorized service centres equipped with the latest technology and technically qualified team of engineers. In addition, our network of more than 1,500 dealers across Gujarat and retail customers has proved that we are different from our competitors.
