Google in February added a new capability to its app on iOS, letting users check all the songs searched for in the past. This capability is now being extended to Android devices as well. It will be an extension of the Song Search feature, which leverages Google's AI visual lookup tool - Circle to Search to look for the name of a song that is currently playing.
Google’s Song Search History tool is now available with the stable version 16.27 of the Google app for Android. This feature allows users to access a detailed log of songs they have previously searched for using Google’s AI-powered song identification function, which also works by playing, humming, or singing a tune.
Android users can now see a new History/Clock icon located at the top-right corner of the screen, which shows the tracks they have recently searched for. Tapping the option will bring up a list of all the tracks searched in the past, including detailed information such as the album art, title, artist, and the time of search.
The history is neatly arranged and grouped by month, with up to 10 results displayed on the main screen.
Users who want to explore further will find a ‘Show full history’ option at the bottom of the list, where a more extensive log of song searches will be visible.
