Electronics Corporation Of India Ltd. has launched two high Technology products called "Carrier Ethernet Switch Router" and "Secure Network Access System".
The ECR-1000 Series Switch Router is based on path breaking Technology conceptualized in the Gigabit Networking Laboratory at IIT Bombay. This novel Technology collapses the lower three layers of the Internet Protocol stack into a single layer. Backward compatibility with existing systems is maintained by the ECR-1000 Series Products by way of using Ethernet and the new Product supports carrier-class features and includes an ultra-fast routing fabric. The ECR-1000 Series Switch .Router provides inherent topological security feature thus positioning transport network with these Routers as the core components of any secure transport network.
ECR-1000 series is a family of Routers covering all the segments of a Communication Network. These are designed to deliver optimum performance in Data-Center, Metropolitan/Wide Area Network, Mobile Backhaul, Carrier Ethernet Transport, Broadband Service, Metro/Core and Transport and also as a replacement to SDH/SONET.
