IndiaAI to Launch Four Responsible AI Tools Starting September
The initiative highlights India's push toward building ethical and secure AI systems to support transparent and inclusive technology adoption.

In a significant step toward ethical and secure artificial intelligence deployment, the Indian government will launch four Responsible AI (RAI) tools under the “Safe and Trusted AI” pillar of the IndiaAI Mission between September and December 2025. These tools will be made available on the official AIKosha portal, and are designed to ensure AI systems in India are developed and deployed with fairness, accountability, and transparency at their core.

The upcoming Responsible AI tools will focus on:
  • Machine Learning Integrity
  • Bias Mitigation
  • Risk Assessment
  • Fairness Evaluation

These solutions are part of a broader initiative to strengthen AI governance in India by preventing discrimination, ensuring data security, and improving user trust in AI-powered systems.

Additionally, 30 AI projects selected under the Application Development Initiative of IndiaAI will enter their trial phase soon. These projects span across sectors like healthcare, education, agriculture, and public service delivery, and aim to demonstrate real-world impact of responsible AI deployment.

The government’s move signals a determined push toward building a responsible AI ecosystem that aligns with global best practices while addressing India-specific socio-technical challenges. It also reinforces India’s ambition to emerge as a global hub for ethical AI innovation and trustworthy AI frameworks.
