
According to news source, LG has officially confirmed that it is working on a unique ‘Wing’ handset that houses two screens but with a swivelling design. Ahead of the official launch, LG has posted a teaser video on YouTube. The video confirms the phone will go official on September 14.
LG in a detailed release said about its ambitious Explorer Project which has been created to address the diverse usage of modern smartphones. LG said that the project aims to “explore” and overhaul the current user experience.
LG further said that the “Explorer Project will focus solely on new usability that is discovered with innovative designs while LG’s new Universal Line will be the company’s lineup of competitive devices that focus on consumer lifestyles, such as LG Velvet.”
The company announced partnerships with Rave, Ficto, Tubi and NAVER to develop features for the Explorer Project devices. Qualcomm is also going to be part of this project.
Before the official launch, LG’s Wing phone has been spotted in multiple leaks. The phone is seen sporting a T-shape design with top part featuring a traditional and vertical screen and the bottom part featuring a horizontal display.
It is said to come with a 6.8-inch main display while the smaller display is a 4-inch screen. The phone will reportedly be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 700-series chipset with support for 5G. LG Wing is also rumoured to come with a triple camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary sensor.
