"Initially, marketing budgets for companies engaging in online and mobile advertisements might be negatively impacted, but bringing the online and mobile ads industry under the purview of service tax is a proof of the increasing dominance of such platforms, and recognizes them at par with the more conventional types of media, i.e. radio and television. Thus in the long term, it is a step in the right direction by making the online and mobile advertisement industry more recognized and transparent."
