The AMJ we are focussing on major distribution tie-ups with new partners in the South and East. In addition to this, we will be focussing more on the enterprise/corporate segment. For the same, we are appointing separate Enterprise/Corporate teams in the four regions.
Given the recession, are you planning to redefine your strategy for channel partners to overcome these challenging times?
Well, given the recession, it is crucial to take calculated steps in your strategy. Channels will benefit by using Security as their profit centre, as security has proved itself to be recession proof.
At times, like these one should focus on selling AntiVirus as a security “Solution” rather than a “Product”, as this is the approach which will help them maintain a consistent revenue growth in the long run.
How are you going to tap the Indian security solutions market in 2009?
We are implementing plans in this financial year to penetrate the B, C & D class cities in a more focused way.
What is your market share?
We would like to increase our market share more by at least 15 per cent in 2009.
How will you achieve the desired market share?
MicroWorld is gearing up for an aggressive global growth strategy and in the process ramping up its product development, RMA and tech support infrastructure, product marketing, channel distribution and other key infrastructure elements. Further, we plan to focus on the corporate and SMB segments in the year 2009. Towards this, we have tied up with major corporate and government bodies such as Go Air, GMR Delhi, NDMC, Elecon and TVS Group, for implementation of customized solution for their security needs across the network.
How many channel partners are you currently working with?
More than 2,000 active channel partners, excluding SIs and VARs.
Do you have any expansion plans?
Yes, we do have plans to increase our channel base as our Channel Partners are very crucial to our business. They form the backbone of our entire sales network. We have recently expanded our network in the Gujarat region with a recent tie-up with Shani Peripherals Pvt. Ltd.
We will continue to add more partners to our family in the future, depending upon our expansion plans.
Do you have any new plans for the channel partners?
At present, we have the Golden Bonanza Scheme for our channel partners that present our registered partners with an opportunity to win Gold and Silver. We also provide Technical Training to our partners on a regular basis. After the successful completion of the programme, partners are certified for the same. We also provide hand holding to the partners in terms of both pre- and post-sales support. This helps Certified Channel Partners to provide the first level of support to their customers which forms the foundation of strengthening the relationship and trust factor with the customers. This is also an additional revenue source to the partner in terms of on-site support charges.
What are the growth opportunities for you?
There is a need for two-way security in the market – one, that can combat the virus that already exists in the system and the other that can stop the virus at source. In today’s market, there is an immense opportunity for growth as people today are becoming aware of the importance of antivirus security solution for one’s business to safeguard them from internal as well as external threats. With the growing use of broadband services, people are prone to attacks from viruses, spyware, adware, malware, keyloggers, hacking, spam, phishing, objectionable content and many other digital hazards, be it at home, colleges, institution or business. Portable Storage Devices also are a portal to virus attacks as they are largely shared amongst a group of users and so if one of the users gets an infection, they end up infecting the whole group.
