Brocade has announced the appointment of networking industry visionary David Meyer to the position of Service Provider business chief technology officer and chief scientist.
A foremost authority on software-defined networking (SDN), Internet routing and OpenFlow technologies, Meyer will play an integral role in the shaping of Brocade’s cloud networking, advanced routing and application delivery strategy.
Meyer will report to Ken Cheng, Vice President and General Manager of the Routing, Application Delivery and Software Networking Group. “David’s a highly respected industry veteran with decades of experience within the networking space,” said Cheng. “His leadership within various industry associations and Internet standards bodies is a testament to his ability to understand at a macro level the implications of the development and standardization of new and emerging technologies that are shaping the future direction of the networking industry.”
