NI hosts India Defense & Aerospace Symposium 2013
Society of Indian Aerospace Technologies & Industries (SIATI), in association with National Instruments (NI), has announced the successful completion of the sixth edition of the India Defense & Aerospace Symposium (IDAS) 2013 in Bangalore.
Jayaram Pillai, Managing Director for India, Russia & Arabia, National Instruments, said, "The success of the sixth 'India Defense & Aerospace Symposium 2013' is a testimony to the increased focus of engineering and technology advancements in the Indian defense sector. NI is now moving beyond sub-systems such as signal intelligence, gunshot detection and simulation, and stepping into control system. COTS-based technology will drive the next- generation platforms for the defense and aerospace industry. COTS with software defined functionality will ensure that sophisticated defense and aerospace systems are built faster in India with the knowledge of Indian scientists and researchers. This will ensure long-term support and IP (Intellectual Property) remaining within the country, hence ensuring security and self-reliance."
Various technical sessions on radar test and validation, wireless sensors and apps, scalable architectures for spectrum monitoring, large channel data acquisition, RF hardware-in-loop design, versatile Record & Playback, simulators, autonomous systems, etc were hosted at the event. These sessions were attended by defense personnel, engineers and researchers representing various functional groups, government authorities and multinational companies.
Other highlights of the event included a unique exhibition arena that displayed live demonstrations, case-studies presentations, innovative products from NI partners and technical consultation.
