Nokia has announced the worldwide availability of its rewards program “DVLUP” for Windows Phone developers in more than 20 countries, including India. Designed to confront the industry-wide challenge of app discoverability, DVLUP will empower developers to increase the visibility and success of their applications.
DVLUP, available as a pilot program in the United States and Canada since November 2012, will be introducing an intuitive user experience with feature consistency across mobile, tablet and desktop platforms to the global marketplace.

Nokia’s DVLUP program puts developers in the driver’s seat providing them with a clear path to get their app featured in app discovery and marketing channels. By leveraging elements of gamification, developers earn points as they improve their app, empowering them to promote their app in marketing, advertising and merchandizing channels like the Windows Phone Store. This creates a more transparent and fair app ecosystem, where developers are in control of their own success, said Chanse Arrington, Global Head of Developer Business Tools, Nokia.
Developers can create, book and manage their own application promotion and marketing campaigns built through participation in DVLUP. Developers can earn badges and experience points (known as “XP”) by completing quizzes and challenges related to application development. By creating high-quality applications, developers can also earn additional points and unlock even greater opportunities.
