The Pixel 10 Pro Fold may be the first foldable with IP68 dust and water resistance and UFS 4.0 storage, offering enhanced durability, faster file handling, and improved overall performance across variants
Google’s next-generation foldable, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, may be in line for a significant leap in both durability and performance, according to leaked details reportedly sourced from an internal specification sheet.
The unconfirmed report, published by German outlet WinFuture, outlines several standout upgrades. Most notably, the device is expected to become the first foldable smartphone to earn an IP68 rating, providing full protection against dust and water immersion. If accurate, this would represent a major engineering feat in a category long challenged by hinge vulnerabilities and environmental exposure.
In addition to enhanced protection, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is also said to feature UFS 4.0 storage, marking the first such upgrade for a Pixel device since the Pixel 6 series. While everyday users may not notice dramatic speed differences, the faster storage format enables more efficient app loading, file transfers, and multitasking. Storage options are expected to include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB variants.
Powerful specs and smarter AI
The leak also points to Google’s Tensor G5 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a larger 5,015mAh battery with Qi2 wireless charging support at up to 15W. Display specs include an 8-inch internal OLED panel and a newly expanded 6.4-inch outer display.
On the imaging front, the device will reportedly feature a 48MP primary camera, supported by ultrawide and telephoto lenses, and two 10MP front-facing cameras. Camera enhancements include optical image stabilization, 5x optical zoom, and 4K video recording at 60fps.
Software and connectivity are also seeing upgrades. The foldable is expected to launch with Android 16 and receive seven years of software support. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, Ultra-Wideband (UWB), Thread, NFC, and dual SIM capability.
AI integration will remain central, with tools like Gemini Nano, Gemini Live, Circle to Search, and Call Assist on board. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is expected to debut on August 20, with shipments likely starting in October, and pricing anticipated to remain consistent with the previous generation.
