Presto Infosolutions, one of the leading System Integrators, is committed to providing Quality Information Lifecycle Management, Video Conferencing, Wireless and Surveillance, IT Consulting and Implementation Services to customers while helping them achieve a competitive edge through the use of IT. Recently, they organized an event which was a unique get-together of Presto's channel partners across India, customers from the government vertical and its four major principals. The principal partners, who used the platform for networking and showcasing their latest and forthcoming solutions, were Alvarion, Polycom, GlobalMedia and Rittal India.
Krishan K. Girdhar, Director, Presto Infosolutions (P) Ltd., said, “Here in India and the SAARC region, we represent close-to eight product vendors, for which we are the Value Added Distributors.” 2010 Innovations highlight the innovations by various product vendors in the country. A lot of developments keep happening on a regular basis, and this event is an endeavour to highlight these latest developments and keep pace with the latest developments on the technology front.
Elaborating further on their initiative, Girdhar said, “This is the first time that we have organized such an event on such a large scale. Earlier, we had done it with only one particular product vendor. But, this time, we are carrying forward with four product vendors so that customers can get a variety of products to understand and this will also give them better understanding of our company and market opportunities.”
Though customers largely from the government vertical, Defence, attended, another important big vertical, i.e. the hospital sector - both public and private - also participated in the event. The event also created awareness amongst partners about the potential in the hospital sector. For instance, GlobalMedia which is into telemedicine is a new product line that Presto has introduced this year and was one of the participants. “Our expectation from this event was largely in creating the awareness for these particular products and the latest innovations that were on display. Customers need to understand what value these product lines can offer them so that they can imbibe them and get the utmost benefit out of it,” shared Girdhar.
The event witnessed attendance from more than 200 customers and about 100-odd partners. Top-of-the-line system integrators like IBM, Wipro and HCL as well as tier-II and tier-III partners had also participated. Seeing the success of this venture, Presto is looking at repeating similar success stories with other principals in the days to come.

Alvarion Ltd.
Alvarion is working closely with Presto in India to make available the most advanced wireless communication platform to the customers here. We are committed to partnership with Presto and appreciate our strong association with them. Alvarion is exploring many different opportunities and verticals in the country, such as in the municipality like the State Wide Area Network (SWAN) projects, education and transportation.
Today's event is a good opportunity to meet face-to-face with customers, showcase our capabilities, get first-hand feedback of their experiences with Alvarion, as well as their expectations of us. We also get to learn more about the Indian market from such events. We are showcasing new features of the products that we have already launched in the market. One of them is the BreezeMAX Extreme, which is an award-winning product providing a WiMAX 802.16e compatible solution which supports frequencies in 5 Gigahertz. This is a product with unique wireless capabilities, higher capacity and long distance capabilities, working best even in environment with the potential for much interference. We are also presenting the BreezeNET B300, which is an exceptional product for the SWAN project.
It also is a good platform wherein we can promote our products and get them into the market. This allows us to gain experience from one region or country and take it to another country or region.

Jay Culver
Global Sales Director, GlobalMedia
For GlobalMedia, Presto in India is a top-level exclusive reseller. Telemedicine is a small, initial level relationship-oriented industry and GlobalMedia has been an Arena Partner with Polycom from the very beginning and through our association with Polycom, we came closer to Presto. The event organized by Presto would help us in a big way to take our products to the customers and they, in turn, would know what is available today in the telemedicine and tele-health areas. Technology is rapidly changing and so it is very essential to come at a common platform like this and discuss things and ideas that are in the back of everyone’s mind. Also, we are using this platform to make available many of our products which are already available globally.
We are very excited to partner with Presto to bring and promote GlobalMedia solutions to the Indian telemedicine market. India is a very maiden market for us and with Presto as our partner, we have a long way to go.

These kind of networking seminars give a very good idea to the government on the latest technologies which will enable them to design their networks. Then, they also get the right knowledge about the specifications they should go for while setting the latest network and state-of-the-art technologies in any particular field. There are partners like Polycom with their innovative video conferencing solutions, the WiMAX vendor Alvarion and RITTAL with their datacenter solutions participating in this event. No network is complete without these new technologies and so they are part and parcel of any developing society. At the end of the day, it is the common public and the customers that these solutions and products are designed for and so they have to be made available to them. The government sector is going to benefit the most from such product demonstrations, as government is the most viable channel through which these products can be routed to the general end-users.

Polycom APAC Pte Ltd.
Presto is a key partner of Polycom in India and we have a longer business relationship with it than with any other national distributor. Our business association with Presto is about six years in India. Presto is able to provide the products and services from Polycom in the areas of audio and video conferencing, recording and streaming as well as our latest technology, immersive telepresence. Their extensive network of partners also access these innovative products, high technology services and benefits from Presto’s expertise in this area.
This event is clearly a demonstration of Polycom's commitment to the Indian market and a commitment to bring our global expertise across multiple industries and vertical markets. The focus was primarily on the public sector. When I say public sector, everything including security, services, education and healthcare comes in its purview. This platform gives us the scope to discuss with our partners and customers the challenges and obstacles specific to the Indian market. It is also to reach out to the entire ecosystem. The one-on-one discussions help us a lot and we gain a lot of insight into how things are shaping up and where the economy is heading.

Arun K. Nathan
Manager Director, Rittal India (P) Ltd.
Rittal has a long association with Presto and it is approximately six years ago that we started this relationship. We found Presto to be an ideal partner, particularly in the government sector. Presto had several contacts in the industry and offered us openings into the segment and hence we started this relationship.
The event was very important for us since we are looking at it as an opportunity to showcase the latest technologies and advances in the datacenter infrastructure segment for which we have several offerings. The products currently used in India are somewhat obsolete and the technology which we offer has several advantages in terms of energy efficiency, green data concepts and several other areas. Hence, we feel that this is an ideal platform to make this start. The solutions that we offer are not end to end for which we do need partners to add value to and create a complete combination and that is where partners like Presto come into the picture.
We have a large portfolio of products, but the main focus in the event was on two things - datacenter infrastructure which we offer with the trademark RIMATRIX 5. It is a combination of racks, server racks, networking racks and then the cooling concept, a unique concept called Liquid cooling package (LCP) pioneered by RITTAL, now introduced in the datacenter space. Secondly, we have the modular UPS and a datacenter management software. Other than this, we have the IT Security Room, for which RITTAL is very well known and we have already supplied and installed some of these security rooms.
Attending such events is not an old practice for us, but now we consider it necessary to do this. This is something we intend to carry on in the near future.
