
Jio has breached the mark of 300 million mark for the mobile users in India by setting up the world record in a shortest time, with this faster growth JIO is bringing its focus towards the broadband operation, which is to get bundled TV and Broadband service for the Indian consumers.
Jio will be offering these as a bundled service for Rs 600 per month, as mentioned by a person familiar with the product. The TV service is going to be based on Internet Protocol technology, similar to Airtel’s Digital TV network available to consumers for the past couple of the years. The paln had already set in the roadmap of Jio since 2017, with the earlier acquisition of the majority stakes in cable and broadband companies Hathway Broadband and Den Networks. The acquisitions had captured Hathway’s 770,000 broadband customers and Den Networks’ 155 million cable subscribers in 2017.
Secondly, Reliance Jio is testing voice, video and data bundle plan for JioGigaFiber, Reliance Jio’s theseTriple Play plan , which bundles video, voice and data – on its JioGigaFiber FTTH connections, it may offer 600 TV channels, landline connection and 100Mbps broadband service for just Rs. 600, which will yet again break the shackles of the Internet TV segment, forcing its rivals to cut down prices as well. Whereas the Jio GigaFiber router to cost Rs 4,500 as the security deposit to get the service working.
Going forward, JIO could also bring an internet-cum-tv service, with smart home applications, including storage of CCTV recordings on cloud also expected to be offered at additional cost.anexpert says. JIO is bring revolution in Indian industries.
Industry experts point out that on an average, a consumer isn’t willing to spend more than Rs 700 for wired internet, but Jio’s bundled offering could appeal to most users, looking for a service that delivers on all fronts.
With all good things are moving positive with Jio, which has recorded net profit of Rs 831 crore for the quarter ended December 2018. It had said, that its 4G LTE network coverage of “99% of population” would be completed in the next few months.
