Sandvine announces new Policy Traffic Switch PTS 24700

Sandvine has announced the release of its latest Policy Traffic Switch hardware platform, PTS 24700, to optimize for LTE, supporting traffic classification and policy control on 72-million concurrent flows without compromising throughput of 120Gbps per unit.

PTS 24700 provides efficient performance-per-rack unit available and centralized and simplified policy management including advanced GUI configuration. It allows easy integration with other network elements with the implementation of 3GPP PCC standards. Including cost effectiveness, the carrier grade reliability ratio is n: n+1. PTS 24700 ensures comprehensive protocol support for wireless networks including IPinIP, GRE, VLAN, MPLS, MobileIP, EoMPLS, 6rd, Teredo, L2TPv2 and GTP tunnels, for accurate traffic classification

Don Bowman, CTO, Sandvine  said, “Only on a mobile network can one subscriber stream their favorite song while looking up directions to the closest Starbucks, send those directions to a friend, update their Facebook status based on their new location and make a mobile payment for their latte; all while travelling between cell towers.  That kind of multi-tasking requires a powerful Policy Traffic Switch to count, measure, manage and act in real time, and maintain a high quality of experience for other subscribers on the network. Sandvine’s PTS continues to outperform competing platforms, meeting the rigorous standards of the most sophisticated and highest-quality mobile networks worldwide.”
