Sify Technologies has partnered with VMware to expand VMware Service Provider Programme (VSPP) in India. The partnership would also enable Sify to provide On-Demand Hosting (Cloud) Services to end-customers using the industry-leading VMware vSphere 4 platform.
Sify has joined the global VSPP, designed for service providers whooffer On-demand cloud services giving them the option to "rent" VMware software licences on a monthly "pay as you go" basis. This model will help Indian companies, both large and small, to safely tap computing capacity inside and outside their firewalls - how they want, when they want, and to the extent they want - to help ensure quality of service for any application they want to run, internally or as a service.
T. Srinivasan, Managing Director, VMware India & SAARC, said, "With VSPP, we enable our partners like Sify to offer solutions that provide cost-effective, cloud-based virtualized infrastructure that meet the specific needs of their clients of all sizes through a simplified, easily accessible service model. This partnership will create new opportunities for them to offer virtualization-enabled solutions, applications and services for their customers and sets the foundation for greater profitability and success."
The VSPP is a cornerstone of the VMware's vCloud initiative. The VMware vCloud initiative brings together leading virtualization solutions from VMware with a robust ecosystem of technology and cloud service providers. The initiative is designed to enable compatibility for all applications running in the cloud, whether on or off premise. This gives the user the choice in deploying applications, allowing easy transitions between providers, as well as on- and off-premise use.
Sify cloud services include Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) for select applications under its On-Demand Hosting Platform. On-Demand Hosting platform is enabling companies to accelerate their eBusiness initiatives and gets them to market faster by reducing the time they currently devote to “cobbling together” the infrastructure components required to support the business.
