Mr. Sriram Krishnan has been appointed Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy under U.S. President-elect Donald J. Trump. In this role, he will work closely with Mr. David O. Sacks, co-founder of PayPal and CEO of Yammer, to advance U.S. leadership in AI and coordinate national AI policy, including engagement with the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.
A seasoned technology leader, Mr. Krishnan began his career at Microsoft in 2007, contributing to the development of Windows Azure as a programme manager for Visual Studio. Over the years, he has held senior positions at Twitter (now X), Facebook, Yahoo!, and Snap, leading product innovations and scaling user growth. At Facebook, he built the Facebook Audience Network, a major competitor to Google’s ad platforms.
In 2021, he joined Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) as a general partner, focusing on investments in emerging technologies such as Web3 and AI, supporting groundbreaking companies including SpaceX, Figma, and Scale AI. In 2022, he gained global attention for working alongside Elon Musk on X’s transformation following Musk’s acquisition.
Born in Chennai in 1983, Mr. Krishnan graduated with a B.Tech in Information Technology from SRM Engineering College (now SRMIST) in Tamil Nadu in 2005. His journey from a small-town student to a leading figure in the global technology sector is a source of pride for SRMIST.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Krishnan co-hosts “The Aarthi and Sriram Show” with his wife, Mrs. Aarthi Ramamurthy. The show, which evolved from “The Good Time Show” on Clubhouse, has featured influential guests including Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Tony Hawk, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, A. R. Rahman, and MrBeast, garnering millions of downloads.
