Telcordia has announced Dr. Adam Drobot as the company’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and President of its Advanced Technology Solutions business unit. He has been appointed by the United States Secretary of Transportation, Ray LaHood, to serve on the Intelligent Transportation Systems Program Advisory Committee (ITSPAC).  As a federal advisory committee, the ITSPAC was established to act in an advisory capacity to the Secretary of Transportation on all matters relating to the study, development and implementation of intelligent transportation systems.

Through its sponsor, the ITS Joint Program Office, the ITSPAC makes recommendations to the Secretary regarding ITS program needs, objectives, plans, approaches, content and progress.

“Adam’s expertise in vehicle telematics and mobile communication technology will be a valuable asset to the ITSPAC,” said Mark Greenquist, President and CEO of Telcordia. “His appointment underscores Telcordia’s commitment to help plan, build, manage and protect our nation’s vital technology infrastructure assets across a wide variety of industries.”

Dr. Drobot said, “At Telcordia, we have helped governments, automotive manufacturers and automotive suppliers develop the software platforms, networks and applications for a new generation of wireless-enabled vehicles and transportation infrastructures, and we look forward to bringing that expertise to bear for the nation’s ITS initiatives.”
