Mumbai Police are investigating a reported shooting targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff's car in Juhu, Mumbai, on Sunday evening. According to the account provided, unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants fired multiple rounds at the actor's BMW, injuring his driver and an autorickshaw driver. The incident has raised concerns about celebrity security and organised crime.
Investigators reportedly recovered a motorcycle believed to have been used by the attackers. The assailants allegedly fled towards Andheri West before abandoning the vehicle. Police are examining CCTV footage from surrounding locations to reconstruct their movements, identify escape routes and establish whether additional individuals assisted in planning the attack.
The actor reportedly escaped gunshot injuries but sustained minor abrasions and suspected gunpowder burns on his right hand. He was taken to Nanavati Hospital for treatment and subsequently discharged. The shooting allegedly occurred around 7 p.m., shortly after Shroff had finished playing a football match.
His driver, identified as Firdaus, reportedly suffered a gunshot wound to his left hand and remained under medical supervision at Nanavati Hospital. Another victim, autorickshaw driver Umesh Chavan, 35, sustained a chest injury and was admitted to Cooper Hospital, where his condition was described as stable.
Police reportedly detained one individual in Santacruz for questioning, although the person's identity and possible involvement remain undisclosed. Fifteen investigation teams have allegedly been deployed to identify the shooters, examine forensic evidence and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A purported claim of responsibility by someone claiming association with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has added another dimension to the investigation. However, neither the claim's authenticity nor the alleged motive involving Shroff's association with Salman Khan has been independently established.
The reported attack highlights concerns surrounding celebrity protection, public safety and organised criminal intimidation. Investigators must establish the facts through forensic analysis, witness statements and surveillance evidence before attributing responsibility.
