ViewSonic India to consolidate Business across Cities
What are your major marketing plans for the year 2009?
For the year 2009, ViewSonic will work on a comprehensive strategy focussing on consolidation of business across various cities. We would be regionalizing our distribution and marketing plans to address the issues and concerns of each zone. Apart from this, we are focussing on expanding the market by introducing exciting product lines and expanding the channel network by recruiting more partners from the Tier-II and Tier-III cities.
What growth you are targeting in the New Year?
After establishing ViewSonic as a key display brand in India, this year we target to further consolidate our business operations and remain an important player in the display segment.
How was the last year for you? What were your major achievements / landmarks?
The year 2008 was very exciting for ViewSonic India. After becoming a prominent player in the country in the display segment and making widescreen monitors a benchmark in the category, we moved the market to bigger sizes such as 19”w and 22”w. Today, these sizes are widely accepted in the industry and are preferred over other form factors.
We also launched some of the exciting product ranges which not only bagged media accolades but also grabbed preference of end-users in the country. Our stylish series of LCD monitors, VX62 series, was much appreciated across the country. This series perfectly blends alluring style with power-packed performance and tout industry-leading 20000:1 contrast ratio and colour performance in a unique, multiuse design to enhance the PC entertainment experience and desktop computing.
Worldwide, ViewSonic demonstrated its display leadership recently by unveiling of its first 120Hz desktop LCD technology. The 22-inch 120Hz prototype delivers rich, colourful, blur-free video performance on traditional gaming, entertainment and graphic applications, while also delivering eye-popping stereoscopic 3D when used with GeForce Stereoscopic 3D gaming technology. The 22-inch 120Hz display coupled with 3ms gray-to-gray response time provides much better Motion Picture Response Time (MPRT) than the typical “fast-response” displays available in the market today, virtually removing the appearance of motion artifacts and ghosting. This makes it the LCD of choice for extreme gaming, entertainment, computer animation, precision graphic work and traditional computer applications. Features, such as integrated 2Wx2 stereo speakers and Dual Link DVI digital input, combine to expand entertainment options and make the monitor a must-have display for 3D gaming.
What would be your channel strategy in 2009?
At ViewSonic, we have a 3-tier channel strategy moving from Distributors to Master dealers (Silver FINCH Club Members) and eventually resellers. We would be revamping our channel infrastructure to make it more region specific. Also, we would be recruiting some new distributors and partners across India for our forthcoming launches and introduction of newer product lines.
Do you have any plans to expand your service centres?
In our commitment to provide the best of the display technology solutions for India, ViewSonic has established a dedicated and professional service support infrastructure for India. To offer world-class service support, ViewSonic appointed top-of-the-line service support partners for post-sales technical and service support. Through these partners, ViewSonic offers service support in over 120 locations across India. In future too, we plan to strengthen this infrastructure by expanding the service infrastructure.
Brief us about your operations in India vis-à-vis globally. ViewSonic International Corporation is a leading global provider of visual display products.
ViewSonic develops markets and supports a broad range of innovative products, including LCD monitors, LCD TVs, projectors, digital signage displays, digital photo frames and other display products.
In India, ViewSonic offers a comprehensive product line of LCD monitors from 15” to 28” and an exhaustive range of projectors offering both DLP and LCD technology to suit the needs of business professionals as well as of home entertainment. In India, ViewSonic has become a prominent player in a very short span of time. We have successfully positioned ourselves amongst the top display brands of the country in the LCD monitor segment. Leading the change, ViewSonic moved the market from 15” to 17” widescreen monitors in 2006, followed by again establishing 19”W as the preferred LCD monitor screen size in 2007. This year too, ViewSonic established 22” widescreen as the preferred Display Monitor size for the market.
What kind of environment-friendly initiatives ViewSonic has taken?
Give details. As a part of the Go Green initiative, ViewSonic ensures building in energy-saving features in all of its products. This is aimed at helping customers not only save energy, but also save money. All of the company’s displays are now ENERGY STAR compliant, and all displays released since July of 2008 will feature a power-saving Eco Mode that will offer up to a 56-per cent energy savings. Also note that over 30 displays of ViewSonic have also received EPEAT Silver Certification which is given to products that reduce toxic materials and waste, are mercury-free, and feature reduced energy consumption
Starting with product design, ViewSonic will strive to reduce the waste associated with its product lifecycle. Product designs now include recyclable plastic and a screw-free assembly, which reduces the number of parts on a given product and makes disassembly for recycling more efficient. ViewSonic has also partnered with a range of ISO 14001 certified recyclers to offer customers several options and incentives to return and recycle used products through its Recycle+ Trade-In programme. The company believes that by designing energy-efficient products and adopting recycling programmes, the organization has taken serious steps towards reducing the amount of waste ending up in landfills, for a more eco-friendly approach.
Do you have any plans to launch technologically advanced products in India like 120 Hz display technology (world’s first 3D monitor)?
At ViewSonic, we would be further consolidating our business and to sustain our position as a leading expert in the display market segment. In the LCD Monitor segment, 2009 will see introduction of some of most technologically advanced products for India.

Share some info on your recently launched products like Full HD Monitor series and DLP projector PJD6210.
Recently, ViewSonic has again demonstrated its display leadership globally by unveiling Full HD 1080p series of LCD monitors. Promising to elevate work plan and entertainment viewing, ViewSonic Full HD series will come loaded with 1080p resolution for crisp text and precise graphics, super-fast 2ms video response time, SRS WOW HD sound technology for crystal-clear audio and a true HD widescreen that will let its users work faster and play harder.
On the projector front, ViewSonic offers an exhaustive line of both DLP and LCD projectors. The recently launched portable DLP Projector PJD6210, encompassing the latest BrilliantColor Technology is perfect for use by small and medium businesses or for bigger-than-life home entertainment. Delivering an incredible all-digital clarity with lifelike colour, sharp graphics and outstanding video, PJD6210 with sophisticated 5-segment colour (RGBWY) wheel promises to provide greater colour accuracy than any standard DLP projector with a 4-segment colour wheel.
