ViewSonic today expanded its lamp-free projector portfolio in India with the launch of the LSD400 Series high-brightness laser projectors (LSD400W, LSD400HD, and LSD400HD-ST) and the LSD300W-ST short-throw LED projector. Designed to meet the diverse needs of Indian classrooms, coaching centres, and higher-education institutions, these new models combine long-life light sources, lower running costs, zero mercury, and sealed optical engines – delivering sustainable projection that is both budget-friendly and future-ready.
“With rapidly growing adoption of digital classrooms across Tier-1, Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities in India, schools and colleges are actively looking for reliable, low-maintenance, and eco-friendly display solutions,” said Muneer Ahmad, VP Sales and Marketing, ViewSonic India. “The new LSD400 Series and LSD300W-ST reinforce our leadership in lamp-free technology in India by offering the right brightness, throw options, and total-cost-of-ownership advantages for every type of learning space from large lecture halls to compact tuition rooms.”
Lamp-free brightness with outstanding longevity & energy efficiency
The LSD400 Series harnesses ViewSonic’s advanced 3rd-generation laser phosphor technology, delivering 4,000 ANSI Lumens with up to 49 % lower power consumption than comparable lamp-based projectors. The light-source lasts up to 30,000 hours, reducing maintenance and eliminating recurring lamp costs.

The LSD300W-ST takes sustainability further with latest-generation solid-state LED technology that achieves 3,300 ANSI Lumens (3,700 centre lumens) and an extraordinary 60,000-hour lifespan which is equivalent to over 20 years of typical classroom use without ever changing a lamp or using mercury.
Both ranges eliminate recurring lamp replacement costs, drastically reduce e-waste, operate cooler and quieter, and carry sealed, filter-free, IP5X dustproof optical engines. This is a critical advantage in India’s varied and often dusty environments.
Reliable Visual Quality and Deployment Flexibility for Indian Classrooms
● LSD400 Series (standard-throw short-throw variants comprising LSD400W, LSD400HD, and LSD400HD-ST) are ideal for medium to large rooms, auditoriums, and coaching institutes needing 4,000 lumens of brightness and projection sizes up to 300 inches.
● LSD300W-ST is a short-throw (0.49) LED model that produces a 100-inch glare-free, shadow-free image from only 1.06 metres, perfect for space-constrained classrooms and activity-based learning zones. It supports 360° orientation including floor and ceiling projection for interactive installations.
All models feature DLP technology with Texas Instruments DMD chips (0.65” on LSD300W-ST) for consistently vibrant colours without yellowing, high native contrast, and zero screen-door effect. Instant on/off, H/V keystone correction ±40°, and 4-corner adjustment ensure fast, distortion-free setup in any room layout.
Centralised Control and Seamless IT Integration
The LSD400HD-ST is certified for Crestron and Q-SYS, and compatible with AMX, PJ Link, ATEN, and Extron systems, allowing Indian schools and universities to monitor and manage fleets centrally. The LSD300W-ST additionally supports ViewShare wireless presentation kit (powered directly by its 5V/2A USB-A port) and hassle-free firmware updates via USB.
With these launches, lamp-free projectors now constitute over 70 % of ViewSonic’s projection line-up in India, underlining the company’s commitment to sustainable education technology that lowers long-term costs while delivering brighter, greener, and more reliable visual experiences.
